Café Garrido traces its roots to 1959 when our founder, Teodoro Garrido, sought the opportunity to produce high quality coffee in Boquete. This area is considered a perfect region by experts for the production of high quality beans, due to its climate and volcanic, mineral rich soil. We pride ourselves in the use of traditional cultivation methods, that include the use of spring water for our washed process in order to guarantee a clean cup. In 1975, Teodoro Garrido, as part of his expansion process acquired an estate naming it Mama Cata in honor of its previous owner, giving birth to our signature product. Mama Cata has become one of our main products gaining recognition in numerous competitions in Panama. Our Geisha variety is produced at an altitude between 1500 and 1700 mts. Climate, soil and altitude come together to create the acidity, body and aroma that our cup is renowned for. What started half a century ago with a man’s dream is now part of a family tradition that encompases three generations.
